EDUCATION
Providing education opportunities for both medical and health related study in Indigenous health, training for Aboriginal people in health related fields and supporting the local community to learn how to better take care of their own and family’s health are a key focus of OAMS.
After all it is improving the capacity of the community which will be the best catalyst for an improvement in health outcomes.
Together with our partners OAMS is involved in the following educational programs:
Internally, staff education and training support is a fundamental aspect of support to comprehensive primary health care, OAMS sees continuing education of staff is critical to maintaining high standards of health service delivery.
In addition to updating and maintaining vocational accreditation members of the team at OAMS are formally studying various courses across the organisation. The opportunities are open for the Board through clinical, management and administrative staff given the chance to study and further develop skills.
