Over several years OAMS has been working in collaboration with Coonabahloo Gibir to conduct ‘Healthy Activity’ programs with local Aboriginal men. This program includes, two days per week exercise training, nutrition classes and one day a week personal training.
In addition to this program, Coonabahloo Gibir and OAMS have collaborated on the implementation of the NSW Ministry of Health “Healthy Weight” state-wide community challenge for the past 2 years.
For the past year, Aboriginal women and Non-Aboriginal men and women are now participating in the program. To date our numbers for this program is averaging 20-25 people per night.
