About Us

Orange Aboriginal Medical Service or OAMS is making a difference to the health of Aboriginal families and the wider community of Central Western NSW. OAMS started in 2005, as a self determined Aboriginal organisation with a vision to be a leader in health and in the community.

OAMS governance structure is commended by Commonwealth Health and provides flexibility to take advantage of opportunities, and that means OAMS can deliver health outcomes with a difference! The GP-led medical service is complimented by integrated on-going care with other health professionals, and supported by appointment booking, patient transport and follow up.

OAMS is committed to work in partnership to contribute to “Closing the Gap” in health outcomes and achieving key goals (as agreed by COAG) by implementing initiatives under the following five priority areas:

  1. Preventive health:
  2. Primary health care:
  3. Hospital and hospital-related care:
  4. Patient experiences:
  5. Sustainability:

Our vision is Healthier generations, Healthier communities.
